Interestingly, sloth was once depression/sadness before it became sloth.

The “seven deadly sins” DO NOT EXIST!! i don’t WHY or HOW ppl think tht, but they are taking the scriptures out of contexts.
Plus, it NEVER mentions sloth as one of the seven DETESTABLE sins. But it is still a sin, and ALL sin is detestable to God. You just have to read the whole context of why Solomon wrote these verses:
16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

I think life is precious and sloth or laziness is a waste of it. Of all the flaws in that a person can have, I believe that sloth is easily one of the worst.
Laziness can include: procrastination, doing something that’s not useful, or refusing to do something that you should. An example would be laying in bed after already waking up.
I don’t believe in sin, but I do believe that sloth is one of the biggest obstacles a person can have in developing as a person.
Misconceptions: I think that choosing efficient actions is sometimes considered laziness. I think efficiency is frequently a good thing when doing so doesn’t diminish the “output” of your action.
Some side notes: I can be a pretty lazy person. I don’t think that being hard on yourself for a flaw is usually useful. However, it is important to improve over time.
So these are some of my thoughts on sloth. I’m not saying that I’m right about all of this, but it’s how I view it.

“The Seven Deadly Sins” are not scriptural in origin. The list of seven deadly sins was devised by Pope Gregory I during the Dark Ages. He had revised an earlier list of 8 evil thoughts which was written by a Greek monk not too long after the Roman Church was created by the 1st Council of Nicea in 325 AD.
