When we die, that is it. Do you remember what it was like before you were born? No, you don’t. That is exactly what death will be like.

The Bible says that at death a person’s thoughts perish, but when they are resurrected, they will remember their life before they died. Lazarus, whom Jesus resurrected had the very same memories and thoughts he had before he died. While we are dead our thoughts perish. We can not think at that time, but we can after we are resurrected-Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10.

There are “books” or records kept in heaven. They are simply copied back into us when we are returned to life….both body (soma) and mind (psyche—often translated as soul by some) is restored too.
Psalms 139:16, Malachi 3:16, Daniel 7:10, Exodus 32:32, 33, Revelation 3:5 and 20:12 are some of the places these books are mentioned. Both our appearance/parts (DNA makeup) and our memories are in these and get restored through the resurrection.
